Swaradayini Music Space is an Indian classical music school based in Pakenham, Melbourne, offering guitar and vocal lessons for students of all ages — online and in-person. Founded by a Carnatic artist with over 14 years of training and accredited in both Lower and Higher Indian Music by the Department of Technical Education, India, Swaradayini is built on one simple belief: that music belongs to everyone. Whether you are picking up an instrument for the first time at sixty, or a child discovering your voice, you will find a patient, nurturing space here to grow.

Carnatic Guitar

The guitar may be a western instrument, but in the hands of a Carnatic musician it becomes something entirely its own. At Swaradayini, guitar lessons explore the full depth of Carnatic raagams, thaalams and compositions — building not just technique, but a genuine musical sensibility. Lessons are tailored to your pace, with a focus on long-term growth over quick results.

Carnatic Vocal

The voice is your most personal instrument — and Carnatic music draws out its full range and beauty. Vocal lessons at Swaradayini take you from the foundational swaras through to kritis and raagam exploration, always at a pace that suits you. Students as young as five and as seasoned as sixty have found their voice here, many continuing their journey with Swaradayini for years.

Have Questions?

Not at all. Swaradayini welcomes complete beginners as warmly as those with existing experience. If you have never sung a note or touched an instrument, you are exactly who we love teaching.

All ages. We genuinely believe age has nothing to do with the ability to learn and enjoy music. Our students range from young children to adults in their sixties — and everything in between.

Typically an hour for adults and 45 minutes for children — attention spans are real! That said, we are flexible and happy to tailor lesson duration to what works best for you. We can discuss it when you get in touch.

Yes — lessons are available both online and in-person at our studio in Pakenham, Melbourne. Online lessons are conducted via video call and can be arranged to suit your schedule and location.

Carnatic music is a lifelong journey — but that's what makes it so rewarding. Students typically begin to play and sing recognisable pieces within the first few months. Many of our students have been learning with us for years and continue to discover new depths in the music.

For guitar lessons, yes — you will need a guitar. We are more than happy to advise on what to look for when purchasing one. For vocal lessons, no instrument is needed — just your voice!
